Esperanto Hostel started off as a beach house, situated no more than a minute from the beach. Come to this place to enjoy the beautiful sea view from our roof-top, relax and listen how the ocean waves will whisper in your sleep.

CLEAN & SAFE

Our staff is working in the hostel around the clock to make sure your stay is comfortable. At night we have our own guard making sure we don't get unwanted visitors in. During the day our crew is constantly keeping our place in top condition!

Absolutely loved it here and would re-visit anytime I went back to Ecuador. Location is perfect, the rooftop overlooks the ocean and the beach is only a 2 minute walk away. Not in the heart of the town, but that’s only about a 5 minute walk away. Jorge (the owner?) is very nice and is good to chat with. Rocke is also phenomenal. Great backyard for hanging out if you want some downtime. Clean. No concerns at all. You get a good size security lock box and rooms have a balcony. Thanks for the stay!

This place was exactly what I was looking for. Great atmosphere. Met people from all over the world and enjoyed going out into the city with them. Not a "party" place but the perfect place to meet people- good quality people. My stay in the city was 100% made by the people I met here. The place is clean and well kept. So much fun. 10/10 would go back and stay here. Found people from 6/7 different countries, early to mid twenties. Great people.

Best hostel in montanita!! Generous breakfast, clean bathroom/kitchen, lovely rooftop terrace - I stayed in five cheaper hostels during a 3week stay and this was worth the extra dollars. Also good if your Spanish not up to scratch as seems to attract alot of English speakers.

This was such a great hostel! The staff made it feel like a really chilled out welcoming environment, especially was so helpful and lots of fun. This hostel was sooo close to the beach and town, perfect location. Great Wi-Fi, free breakfast, lockers in rooms and comfy beds.

I’m sure I was the oldest one staying there and felt very comfortable and excepted. The staff was very friendly and help me find the best restaurants and places to go out. The place far exceeded my expectations in style and design. It was just far enough away from the night clubs that the music wasn’t a problem, but only a few minutes walk away. It was very clean and well kept as a hostel. I highly recommend this place to all.

We absolutely loved our stay at Esperanto and highly recommend it. The whole place is super clean and comfortable. Nice that they offer breakfast - I recommend buying your own eggs to accompany the bread & fruit provided. One of the highlights would definitely be the rooftop with hammocks and chairs to relax! The staff are absolutely amazing and do everything to make sure you have an excellent stay. Definitely not a party hostel, but it’s still easy to meet people! Thanks for an amazing stay! 🙂

Fly into Ecuador

Most visitors are arriving from abroad. We advice people traveling by plane to book a ticket to Guayaquil (GYE) airport.

To Montañita

Esperanto Hostel is located in the town Montañita at the western coast. Regular busses are leaving all day from Guayaquil city to the local bus station.

Finding Esperanto

If you don’t have internet on your arrival, you can use the signs on the road to find us. From the main road upon your arrival it will be hard to miss if you walk up north.
